Our plastic Faux wood shutters made of PVC provide more insulation and are more durable in wet environments. We recommend faux wood be used for bathrooms, wet rooms and Kitchens where plantation shutters may come into contact with water. While an engineered material could be installed anywhere, when considering all pros and cons, we recommend installing our shutters made of solid basswood in all other parts of the home.
The two primary benefits of poly shutters are they are waterproof and have better insulating properties than wood.
